And, of course, right here on Boulevard on Aug. 8, there was this one: Louisville’s favorite daughter says goodbye to her first, pre super-stardom California home.

To paraphrase Emily Litella, every one of those stories was f-ing wrong! The sellers were actually Continue reading “Department of Never Mind: Remember the story last month about Jennifer Lawrence’s California starter home, the one she sold for $1.2M?”

Happy 26th, Jennifer Lawrence!

The Oscar-winning actress was born in Louisville Sept. 15, 1990, and celebrated last year literally in bed with the Ma Barker of reality TV:

Lawrence became a household name in 2012 when she played Katniss Everdeen in the first installment of the “Hunger Games” series, according to News Hub. “Catching Fire” was released in 2013, “Mockingjay Part 1” in 2014, and “Mockingjay Part 2” last year.

She now commands eight-figure salaries. She was paid $20 million for the sci-fi adventure movie “Passengers” co-starring Chris Pratt. The move about a 5,000-passenger luxury spaceship on a 120-year journey to an interstellar colony is set to open Dec. 1.

The first still photos from the movie are dribbling out, including this one from Entertainment Weekly on Friday:

Three starsJennifer Lawrence has just sold her Los Angeles starter home for $1.2 million, 33% more than what she paid for it back in 2006, when her career was just starting to take off. The 1,413-square-feet Santa Monica townhouse has two bedrooms and three bathrooms, hardwood floors, and a fireplace.

Lawrence, 25, hasn’t lived there since 2014, when she bought a Beverly Hills mansion for $8.2 million from comedian Ellen DeGeneres. By then, she’d scored three big hits: “X-Men: First Class” in 2011; “The Hunger Games” in 2012, the first in that ultra-successful franchise, and “Silver Linings Playbook,” also in 2012, for which she won her best-actress Oscar.

Lawrence hasn’t settled down yet. In May, she was spotted kicking the tires on a paparazzi-proof $14.4 million condo in New York’s Tribeca neighborhood, where neighbors have included mega Grammy-winner Beyoncé, Coldplay’s Chris Martin, and his ex-wife, Gwyneth Paltrow.

Lawrence’s ‘Red Sparrow’ may cast Australian actor Edgerton

Jennifer LawrenceBoulevard reviews the latest media coverage of the Oscar-winning Louisville native in our exclusive Jennifer Lawrence Diary™. Today’s news, rated on a scale of 1-5 stars:

Three starsOne of Jennifer Lawrence‘s next projects — espionage thriller “Red Sparrow” — is inching forward with reports Australian actor Joel Edgerton is in talks to co-star. The film, scheduled for release November 2017, according to Variety, is based on 33-year CIA veteran Jason Matthews2013 novel of the same name.

Deadline, which reported Egerton’s negotiations today, describes the plot:

Red Sparrow“The book is set in contemporary Russia, and state intelligence officer Dominika Egorova (Lawrence) struggles to survive in the cast-iron bureaucracy of post-Soviet intelligence. Drafted against her will to become a “sparrow,” a trained seductress in the service, Dominika is assigned to operate against Nathaniel Nash (possibly Edgerton), a first-tour CIA officer who handles the agency’s most sensitive penetration of Russian intelligence. The two young intelligence officers collide in a charged atmosphere of trade craft, deception, and inevitably, a sexual attraction that threatens their careers and the security of America’s valuable mole in Moscow.”

The Red Sparrow script has a tenuous connection to one of Lawrence’s previous movies: It’s a rewritten version of one originally by the author of 2013’s “American Hustle.”

Lawrence, now juggling multiple projects, turns 26 on Aug. 15.

Edgerton, 42, played Tom Buchanan in “The Great Gatsby,” the 2013 remake based on the F. Scott Fitzgerald novel set partly in Louisville. Here’s a clip featuring Edgerton and co-stars Leonardo DiCaprio and Carey Mulligan:

No duh! We’re definitely not getting the blues over Lawrence’s beefcake-y British ‘X-Men’ personal trainer

Two starsStop the presses — but not the bench presses, of course!

The British personal trainer who helped Jennifer Lawrence, Hugh Jackman and Michael Fassbender get in shape for 2014’s “X-Men: Days of Future Past” has revealed his six secrets for getting in shape, starting with No. 1 which is to . . . start.

“A lot of people,” David Kingsbury tells Healthista, “spend time trying to get as much information together as possible, which for the most part is putting off the inevitable act of exercising more and eating less.”

Then there’s No. 2: burn more calories than you consume (to which Boulevard says: duh). And steps 3, 4, 5 and 6? Duh, duh, duh, and duh.

“But what about ‘cheat’ days?,” Healthista asks. “We all experience cravings for naughty foods, a quick sweet treat to boost our mood on a Wednesday afternoon, it’s only human. But we have to appreciate that the more naughty foods we eat, the slower our progress will be.”

Kingsbury, it turns out, admits he indulges as much as he wants, which seems to deflate his entire argument about eating a healthy diet. So, we here on Boulevard’s health and fitness news desk are going to ignore all his advice, and concentrate on the greasy hamburgers he and Jackman are eating here:

“I’m over trying to find the ‘adorable’ way to state my opinion and still be likable! F**k that.”

Jennifer Lawrence, in her 2015 essay, “Why Do These Dudes Make More Than Me?” The 25-year-old actress became one of many celebrities who’ve used the power of the pen to call out women’s issues, according to Entertainment Tonight. The most recent: Jennifer Aniston, who spoke out yesterday in a much-discussed Huffington Post essay about the constant pregnancy rumors swirling around her, and the “stalking and objectification” she’s endured by the media.
