Launched by the Oscar-winning actress and Louisville native, The Jennifer Lawrence Foundation helps children and the arts.
One of her most high-profile donations came in February 2016, when she gave $2 million gift to Kosair Children’s Hospital in Louisville, to establish the establish the Jennifer Lawrence Foundation Cardiac Intensive Care Unit. Announcing the donation in a video, top, Lawrence challenged the Louisville community to match it with an additional $2 million.
The Lawrence foundation’s support also extends to:
- Uspiritus, which helps abused and neglected youth
- St. Mary’s Center, which serves teens and adults with intellectual disabilities
- West End Boys School, a free college prep-school for at-risk boys
- Boys and Girls Clubs
- Make-A-Wish Foundation
- Be The Match, which provides marrow transplants from donors for patients in need
