In hot-ticket Derby parties (and real estate), it’s all about location, location, location

Real estate kingpin Ryan Serhant, one of the stars of Bravo channel’s “Million Dollar Listing New York,” hit the black carpet (yes: black) last night at the invitation-only Vanity Fair Derby party at 21C Museum Hotel. The event drew 350 people, says WLKY.

21c Museum Hotel co-owner Steve Wilson took The Courier-Journal on an inside-the-hotel tour of where Vanity Fair magazine will hold its first Derby party, Friday night. But unlike other Derby events (we’re looking at you, Barnstable-Brown), the upmarket glossy famous for its Oscar party won’t be disclosing the guest list.

Still, everyone else can watch guests arrive on the black (yes) carpet, starting at 8 p.m. (Side note: Wilson says he’s dreaming of opening a 21c in Havana, now that the U.S. is moving toward normalizing relations.) Here’s the CJ story, and a tour video.

Smokin’ hot “Chicago Fire” actor Taylor Kinney, Fox News journalist Megyn Kelly — who’s gone toe-to-toe with White House aspirant Donald Trump — plus “Arrow” star Stephen Amell are among the dozens of celebrities expected at the annual Barnstable-Brown Party on Derby Eve. The event, now in its 29th year, has raised and donated about $11.2 million to the Barnstable Brown Diabetes and Obesity Research Center at the University of Kentucky over the past nine years (CJ). Tickets for the black-tie May 6 party at the Barnstable home in the Highlands are $1,075 per person. The full guest list so far, according to WDRB. The party is a production of Diamond Derby Inc., a non-profit that makes its annual IRS tax return public under federal law; here’s the one for 2014.
